Uzbekistan Visa

All U.S. citizens need an Uzbekistan visa for entry into the country regardless of the purpose of their trip. If you are planning a trip to Uzbekistan, you must secure your travel visa before you arrive at an embassy or consulate.

Visas are not issued on arrival. If you are traveling on a tourist visa, you must stay at a hotel for the entire length of your stay in Uzbekistan. You cannot stay at a private residence.

When you apply for your visa, you have to indicate the length of your stay on your application. The length of stay will be indicated on your Uzbekistan visa, and you will only be allowed to remain in the country for that amount of time.

If you are staying in Uzbekistan for more than three business days, you must register your visit the Office of Entry, Exit and Citizenship upon arrival. If you are staying at a hotel, the hotel will automatically register you when you check in.

However, if you are not staying at a hotel, you must register yourself. If you do not register, you are subject to fines and imprisonment.
