Sierra Leone Visa

U.S. citizens need a Sierra Leone visa for entry into the country. If you are planning a trip to Sierra Leone, you must secure your travel visa at the Embassy or Mission in advance of your trip.

It is important that you get the appropriate type of visa based on the purpose of your trip. Without the proper travel documents, you won’t be allowed to enter the country

When you apply for a visa, you must submit a variety of forms and supporting documentation, so your application can be processed.

However, the items you will be required to provide vary based on the type of visa for which you are applying. Below is a list of documents that are frequently required to obtain a Sierra Leone visa.

  • Completed visa application form. It is important that you complete this form in its entirety. Incomplete and inaccurate application forms will not be processed, delaying the issuance of your visa.
  • Passport with at least six months validity remaining
  • Itinerary or round trip ticket showing evidence of your return to the United States or travel to a subsequent location
  • Passport photo taken within the last six months
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • This list is not meant to be all-inclusive. You may be required to interview and/or provide additional documentation depending on the purpose of your trip and the type of visa for which you are applying. For the most up to date visa requirements, visit the website of the Sierra Leone Embassy.

    Submitting Your Application

After you have completed your Sierra Leone visa application form and gathered the required documentation, you can submit your application in person at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Washington, D.C. or Mission in New York or you can send your application by mail.

If you mail your application, you must send it via USPS Express Mail and include a prepaid, self-addressed envelope, so your passport can be returned to you after your visa is issued.

It usually takes three business days to process visa applications at the Embassy or two weeks at the Mission. Same day service is available at the Embassy for an additional fee of $50.00.

The cost of a one year multiple entry Sierra Leone visa is $140.00. Fees are payable by money order or cashier’s check only. Other forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards and personal checks are not accepted. All fees are non-refundable.

    Visa Service

Identifying the exact requirements for the type of visa for which you are applying can be the most confusing part of the application process. However, it is also the most important. Without the appropriate forms and supporting documents, your visa application will not be processed.

This will delay the issuance of your visa and possibly your travel plans. If you want to make sure your application is correct the first time, a professional visa service like “company name” can help.

Visa companies are experts in the visa application process, and they are authorized by foreign embassies and consulates to submit applications on behalf of their clients. When you work with a visa service, securing your Sierra Leone visa is fast and simple.

Representatives are available to get you the answers you need if you have questions at any time during the application process. In addition, most visa companies have large databases of the most up to date visa requirements for nearly every country in the world, making it easy for you to identify the information you need to provide with your application.

After you have completed your application and gathered the supporting documentation, simply send it to the visa service, and they will take care of the rest. A representative will review your application materials to make sure they are complete and accurate before submitting them to the embassy for processing. When your Sierra Leone visa is issued, it will be mailed to you, so you can depart for your trip as planned.
