All U.S. citizens need a Gambia visa for entry into the country. The U.S. Department of State recommends securing your visa before you arrive to prevent delays.
However, according to the State Department, if you do not have a travel visa when you arrive in Gambia, you may be allowed to enter the country, but you will be required to obtain a visa from the Department of Immigration within two days of arriving in country.
When you apply for a visa, you will be required to submit a variety of forms and supporting documentation, so your application can be processed. You must provide a variety of personal information about yourself and your travel plans, including your name, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, address, phone number and travel dates. Submitting Your Application
After you have completed your application form and gathered the required documentation, you must submit your application for processing. Your application can be submitted to the Gambia Embassy either in person or by mail.
If you submit your application by mail, you must include a prepaid, self-addressed envelope, so your passport can be returned to you after your visa is issued.
The Embassy of Gambia recommends including a FedEx, UPS or Express/Priority Mail return envelope. Regular processing of Gambia visa applications takes three to four business days. Express service is available for an extra fee of $50.
The fee for a multiple entry visa is $100. It is payable by money order and is non-refundable.
