The Republic of Congo Foreign Entry Requirements
If you will be visiting the Republic of Congo, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the Republic of Congo foreign entry requirements before your trip.
All U.S. citizens traveling to the Republic of Congo will need a return/onward ticket, proof of yellow fever vaccination, a letter of invitation, a hotel reservation, a valid passport and a visa upon arrival.
If you do not satisfy all of the requirements, you will not be allowed to enter the country. Additional information about these requirements is included below. However, entry requirements are subject to change.

U.S. citizens traveling to the Republic of Congo must present a return or onward ticket on arrival to show they do not have plans to remain in the country beyond their authorized stay.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
According to the Republic of Congo foreign entry requirements, all visitors to the country are required to provide proof that they have been vaccinated against yellow fever to officials upon arrival.
Letter of Invitation
U.S. citizens traveling to the country should be ready to present a letter of invitation when they arrive. According to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs website, some letters must be endorsed by local immigration authorities prior to the individual’s arrival in the country.
All U.S. citizens should also have a copy of their hotel reservation for their stay in the Republic of Congo.
U.S. citizens traveling to the Republic of Congo must have a passport that is valid for at least three months beyond their scheduled stay. If you do not have a passport or your existing passport is damaged or does not have the requisite validity, you will need to get a new one before arriving to satisfy the Republic of Congo foreign entry requirements.
In addition to having a valid passport, all U.S. citizens need a visa to enter the Republic of Congo. There are a variety of forms and supporting documents you must submit with your visa application so it can be processed. Below is a list of items that are commonly required to secure a Republic of Congo visa.
U.S. passport with at least six months validity remaining
Two completed application forms
Two passport photos
Written confirmation of your trip from your travel agent
If you are applying for a business visa, you must also include a letter from your employer on company letterhead with the following information: the name and address of the person you are visiting, confirmation of your return trip or onward travel, and a financial guarantee for your stay.
