Are you planning a trip to Indonesia? If so, it is important that you learn about the Indonesia foreign entry requirements before you arrive. If you do not have the proper documentation, you may not be allowed to enter the country.

All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport, onward/return ticket and visa. You may also need written permission depending on the area of Indonesia you are visiting. Additional information about these requirements is included below.

However, entry requirements are subject to change. For the most up to date information, contact the Indonesian Embassy or visit the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.

All U.S. citizens are required to have a passport with at least six months validity remaining to enter Indonesia. If you do not have a passport or your existing passport is damaged or does not have the requisite validity, you must obtain a new one before arriving in Indonesia.

Onward/Return Ticket

According to the Indonesia foreign entry requirements, U.S. citizens who apply for a visa on arrival must have a return ticket to the United States or proof of travel beyond Indonesia.

All U.S. citizens need a visa to enter Indonesia. In some circumstances you may be able to get a visa on arrival. Thirty-day tourist and business visas are issued upon arrival at certain Indonesian airports and seaports, but not at land border crossings. However, in general you should apply for your visa before arriving in Indonesia whenever possible.

When you apply for a visa, you will be required to provide a variety of forms and supporting documents so your application can be processed.
