Guyana Foreign Entry Requirements

If you are planning a trip to Guyana, it is important that you learn about the Guyana foreign entry requirements before you arrive.

If you do not have the appropriate documentation, you may not be allowed to enter the country. All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport for entry into Guyana. Additional information about this requirement is included below.

However, entry requirements are subject to change. For the most up to date information, contact the Guyanese Embassy or visit the website of the Embassy of Guyana.

Passport

All U.S. citizens are required to have a passport valid for at least six months when they arrive in Guyana. If you do not have a passport or your current passport is damaged or does not have the necessary amount of validity remaining, you must obtain a new one before leaving the United States.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs website, U.S. travelers are usually allowed to stay in Guyana for 30 days.

When to Apply

Since a valid passport is one of the Guyana foreign entry requirements, you should apply for a new one as far in advance of your trip as possible to avoid any unnecessary delays.

In general, it takes approximately two to six weeks for passport applications to be processed. When you submit your application, you must choose routine or expedited service. If you select routine service, it will take about four to six weeks for your application to be processed.

If you select expedited service, it will take about two to three weeks. However, these times are estimates only. It may take longer to receive your passport if you apply when application volume is high.

Visa

According to the Guyana foreign entry requirements, U.S. citizens do not need a visa to enter the country. However, if you need to remain for longer than 30 days, you can request an extension from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Additional Requirements

If you are traveling to Guyana for a reason other than tourism, you must check with the Ministry of Home Affairs to find out whether or not there are other requirements you need to meet for your stay.

Passport Expediting Service

When you need help securing your passport, a professional expediting service like “company name” can provide the assistance you’re looking for.

Passport companies are registered with the U.S. Department of State to hand carry applications to the U.S. Passport Agency on behalf of their clients. They are also experts in the application process.

When you work with a passport expediting service, you will receive detailed instructions about the information you need to submit with your application, so it can be processed efficiently. Furthermore, if you have questions at any time, representatives are available to get you the answers you need.

After you have completed your application, simply send it to the passport service, and they will take care of the rest. Upon receipt of your application, a representative will review it to ensure it is complete and accurate.

Then they will submit it to the U.S. Passport Agency for processing. When your passport has been issued, it will be mailed to you, so you can leave for your trip as scheduled with the passport you need to satisfy the Guyana foreign entry requirements.
