Gabon Foreign Entry Requirements
All U.S. citizens traveling to Gabon should familiarize themselves with the Gabon foreign entry requirements before they arrive. Without the proper documentation, you will not be allowed to enter the country.
All U.S. citizens are required to have proof of Yellow Fever vaccination, a valid passport and a visa to enter the country. Additional information about these requirements is included below.
However, entry requirements are subject to change. For the most up to date information, contact the Embassy of the Gabonese Republic.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
All U.S. citizens are required to show proof that they were vaccinated against Yellow Fever at least 10 days before arriving in Gabon.
According to the Gabon foreign entry requirements, if you are traveling to Gabon, you must have a valid U.S. passport to enter the country. If you do not have a passport or your current passport is damaged or will expire before your trip, you must obtain a new one before arriving in Gabon.
All U.S. citizens need a Gabon visa for entry into the country. Gabon does not issue visas on arrival, so you must secure your visa before you arrive.
The U.S. Department of State recommends bringing the documentation you supply when you apply for your visa with you to prevent delays upon arriving.
In addition to an entry visa, Gabon requires travelers to have an exit visa before they will be permitted to leave the country. You can secure your exit visa after you arrive in Gabon.
The requirements for obtaining a visa to meet the Gabon foreign entry requirements vary based on the type of visa for which you are applying. According to the U.S. Department of State, the following is a list of items commonly required when applying for a visa.
Completed visa application form. It is important that you complete this form in its entirety. Incomplete and inaccurate visa applications will not be processed, delaying the issuance of your visa.

Applicable Gabon visa fees
This list is not meant to be all-inclusive. You may be required to provide additional documentation depending on the purpose of your trip. For the most up to date visa requirements, contact the Embassy of the Gabonese Republic.
It is important to note that securing a visa as required by the Gabon foreign entry requirements does not necessarily guarantee you entry into the country.
According to the official portal of the Gabonese Republic, border police may perform random checks and choose not to allow visitors to enter the country if they do not have the appropriate documents (including those that were required to secure your visa).
Submitting Your Application
After you have completed your application and gathered the required documentation, you must submit your application materials for processing to the Embassy or Consulate.
If you submit your application by mail, you must include a prepaid, self-addressed envelope, so your passport can be returned to you after your Gabon visa is issued.
