Egypt Foreign Entry Requirements
If you are planning a trip to Egypt, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the Egypt foreign entry requirements before you arrive.

U.S. citizens arriving in Egypt from an area infected by Yellow Fever must provide a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate on arrival. In addition, according to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs website, if you are going to Egypt to work, study or for training, and you are staying for more than 30 days, you must have an HIV test.
According to the Egypt foreign entry requirements, all U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport to enter the country. If you do not have a passport or your existing passport is damaged or will expire before your trip, you must obtain a new one before traveling to Egypt.
All U.S. citizens are required to have a visa for travel to Egypt. Americans traveling by plane can get a 30-day tourist visa when they arrive at the airport.

Submitting Your Application
If you do not plan to get a tourist visa upon your arrival in Egypt, you can either apply in person or mail your application to the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate. If you submit your application by mail, you must provide a self-addressed, stamped certified envelope for the return of your passport and visa.
If you are going to Egypt to work, you must obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration prior to your arrival. According to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs website, work permits must be secured through the employer.
