Belgium Foreign Entry Requirements

If you are planning a trip to Belgium, it is important for you to learn about the Belgium foreign entry requirements before you arrive. If you have not fulfilled the requirements, you will not be allowed to enter the country.

Additional information about the current requirements is listed below. However, they are subject to change. For the most up to date information, contact the Belgium Embassy or the website of the Embassy of Belgium before your trip.

Passport

All U.S. citizens need a valid passport for entry into Belgium. If your current passport is expired; has been lost, stolen or damaged; or you don’t have a passport, you must get a new one before traveling to Belgium.

Because Belgium is part of the Schengen Agreement, after entering Belgium, U.S. citizens can travel among all Schengen countries for up to 90 days without showing their travel documents again.

Visa

According to Belgium foreign entry requirements, U.S. citizens can travel to Belgium for tourism or business without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a six month period.

If you will be staying for more than 90 days or you are traveling for a reason other than tourism or business, you must secure your visa before arriving in Belgium. You will be required to provide a variety of forms and supporting documents to obtain your visa.

The exact requirements vary based on the purpose of your trip. However, the items listed below are commonly required for many types of visas.

Visa Requirements

  • In addition to being one of the Belgium foreign entry requirements, a valid U.S. passport is required to secure a visa. The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and have at least one blank visa page remaining.
  • Completed application form. It is important that you complete this form in its entirety. Incomplete and inaccurate applications will not be processed.
  • Color passport photos
  • Language form
  • Documents showing the purpose of your trip
  • Evidence of sufficient funds to cover the cost of your trip
  • Visa fees
  • This list is not meant to be all-inclusive. You may be required to provide additional documents based on the reason for your visit. For the most up to date visa and Belgium foreign entry requirements, contact the Embassy or visit the website of the Embassy of Belgium.

    Submitting Your Application

After you have completed your application form and gathered the required supporting documents, you will need to submit your application materials for processing to the Embassy in Washington, D.C. or one of the Consulates in New York, Los Angeles or Atlanta, depending upon which office has jurisdiction over the state in which you live.

    Passport and Visa Service

Applying for a passport or visa can be confusing and time consuming, especially if you’ve never had one before. But a professional passport and visa service like “company name” can help make the process easier and help you meet the Belgium foreign entry requirements.

Passport and visa companies are registered with the U.S. Department of State to hand carry passport applications to the U.S. Passport Agency; and they are authorized by foreign embassies and consulates to submit visa applications on behalf of their clients.

Often, identifying the requirements necessary to secure your passport and/or visa is the most difficult part of the process.

But passport and visa companies know the ins and outs of the application process, and they can help you make sure you have met all of the necessary requirements, so your application can be processed quickly and efficiently.

When you work with a passport and visa service, a representative will guide you through the application process, so you can be sure your application is correct.

If you have questions at any time, a representative will be available to get you the answers you need, so you can meet the Belgium foreign entry requirements.

After you have prepared your application materials, simply send them to the passport and visa company, and they will take care of the rest.

Upon receipt of your materials, they will review them to make sure everything is in order. Then they will submit your application for processing. When your passport and/or visa has been issued, it will be mailed to you, so you can be on your way.
