Armenia Foreign Entry Requirements

If you are planning a trip to Armenia, there are several Armenia foreign entry requirements you must fulfill before you will be allowed to enter the country, including securing a valid passport and Armenia visa.

If you arrive without the proper travel documents, you will not be allowed to enter the country. Entry requirements are subject to change, so it is important that you obtain the most current information from the Armenian Embassy or by visiting the website of the Embassy of Armenia.

All U.S. citizens need a valid passport in good condition to enter Armenia. If you do not have a passport or your current passport is damaged or has been lost or stolen, you will need to secure a new one before traveling to Armenia.

Current Armenia foreign entry requirements indicate that all U.S. citizens need a visa for entry into the country. According to the U.S. Department of State, visas can be obtained one of three ways:

  • Online through the Armenian Foreign Ministry website
  • At an Embassy or Consulate prior to traveling to Armenia
  • On arrival. NOTE: According to the U.S. Department of State, only two types of visas are issued on arrival: single entry for a stay of 21 days or multiple entry for a stay of 120 days. If you need another type of visa, you should obtain before arriving.
  • Visa Requirements

A visa is one of the Armenia foreign entry requirements U.S. citizens must fulfill in order to be allowed entry into the country. Below is a list of items that are commonly required to secure an Armenia visa.

However, requirements vary based on the type of visa for which you are applying, so you may be required to provide additional documentation based on the purpose of your trip.

  • Completed visa application form. It is important that you complete this form accurately and in its entirety. Incomplete and inaccurate applications will not be processed.
  • U.S. passport with at least six months validity remaining
  • Passport photo
  • Visa fee
  • Photocopy of visa from the country of final destination or airline tickets (transit visa)
  • A prepaid, self-addressed return envelope with a tracking number (if submitting your application to an Armenia Embassy or Consulate by mail), so your passport can be returned to you after your visa is issued.
  • Requirements can change at any time. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive. For the most up to date visa information and Armenia foreign entry requirements, visit the website of the Embassy of Armenia.
