Angola Foreign Entry Requirements

If you are planning a trip to Angola, you will need to learn about Angola foreign entry requirements prior to your visit. Angola has several requirements U.S. citizens must meet before they arrive.

If you do not meet the necessary requirements upon arrival, you will not be allowed to enter the country, and you could be detained. Additional information about the entry requirements for Angola is outlined below.

However, requirements are subject to change. For the most up to date information, contact the Angola Embassy or visit the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Angola.

Passport

U.S. citizens are required to have a passport with at least six months validity and one blank visa page. If you do not have a passport, or your passport doesn’t have the requisite amount of validity or blank pages remaining, you will need to get a new one or add pages to your existing one before you leave.

Visa

In addition to a valid U.S. passport, Angola foreign entry requirements mandate that U.S. citizens secure an Angola visa before they will be allowed to enter the country. You must get your visa prior to arriving.

Visas are not issued on arrival. When you apply for your visa, you will be required to provide a variety of forms and documents so your application can be processed.

The exact requirements vary based on the type of visa for which you are applying. However, listed below are some items that are commonly required to secure an Angola visa.

  • Two application forms. All applications must be typed. Hand-written forms will not be accepted.
  • Not only is a valid U.S. passport one of the Angola foreign entry requirements, it is also necessary to secure a visa. Your passport must be valid for at least six months and have at least one blank visa page.
  • Two passport photos. The applicant’s name must be written on the back of each photo.
  • Information about the purpose of your trip or an invitation letter addressed to the Consular Mission Chief
  • A copy of your travel itinerary
  • Visa fees. Fees vary based on the type of visa for which you are applying.
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for your visit to Angola (e.g. bank statement or letter from your employer). According to the website of the Embassy of Angola, at least $100.00 per day is required.
  • This list is not meant to be all-inclusive. You will be required to provide additional documents based on the purpose of your trip.
